We slept in, had an adequate hotel breakfast, and hit the road. After a couple of hours of driving we stopped for lunch at Salvatore’s Pizza & Pasta just outside of Birmingham, AL.

The food was amazing! Customer service was good too. Highly recommend!
After lunch, it was time to hit the road again. Since today we were supposed to be touring a college, and that got canceled due to our change in trajectory, we had an entire day with nothing but driving on the agenda. And who wants that?
After seeing a couple of billboards and a quick internet search, we decided a stop at the Alabama Safari Park would be just the thing to break up our day, provide some enjoyment, and let us stretch our legs. It did not disappoint.

After our visit Jason decided it was time for a snack, and just happened to notice a Dairy Queen on our way in. So ice cream it is. Or onion rings, if you’re our younget.

We finished to drive to southern Alabama following a beautiful sunset, and arrived at our hotel after dark.
